Hi all

and again I have a little puzzle I cant solve!

This problem concerns O8i SE on windows NT.

Since the SE doesnt support automated standby database and upgrading to EE is not an option, I need to find a way to apply the archived logfiles kind of automatically to my standby database.

Whenever a logswitch occurs I'd like to copy the archived redo log file to a secure location.

Can this be done by adding log_archive_dest_2 to my init.ora pointing to a directory on the remote server?
The way I see it this should be possible until I lose my network mapping for some reason.

Can anyone give me some feedback on this?

Thanks in advance,

Yes, you can set the log_archive_dest_2 to send a second copy of archived file to remove standby database through network ... setting for TNSNAME for standby datbase. Hope this is helping
